What should be apostilled
A current-form divorce certificate is usually apostilled. If a court judgment is required, the route may differ.
Old documents
Soviet-era and early post-Soviet certificates often need a modern reissue first.
Translation
The apostilled document is often translated afterwards. Remarriage abroad may also require a marital-status certificate.
Timing
Official standard apostille fees are GEL 30–150. The common delay is choosing the wrong underlying document.
Frequently asked questions
Can a court decision be apostilled?
Court documents are eligible categories; first confirm that the receiving authority actually needs the judgment.
Do I need a new certificate?
Often yes if the old form is unsuitable.
Will I need a marital-status certificate?
Sometimes, especially for remarriage.
