When apostille is needed
Apostille is used where the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention applies. For other destinations, legalization may be required.
How to prepare it
Obtain the certificate through the competent Georgian service, then choose the correct international-authentication route. It is usually best to plan certificate → apostille/legalization → translation.
Translation
A translation is often required abroad. The correct sequence depends on the receiving authority; in some cases the translation also needs separate certification.
Timing
Official standard apostille fees depend on speed: GEL 30, 60, 120 or 150. The total timeline may also include certificate issuance and translation.
Frequently asked questions
Does it need to be recent?
Many foreign authorities set their own freshness requirement, so check it before ordering.
Apostille or legalization?
That depends on the destination and whether the Apostille Convention applies.
Can I start remotely?
Yes. A clear photo and destination country are enough for a preliminary review.
